APPLY TO EMERSON
Application Information
Emerson accepts the Common Application and Emerson Application. First-year applicants should complete all parts of the application, including the Emerson-specific writing supplement.
Emerson has a test-optional policy for admission. Students may elect to submit their application with standardized test scores or not. Additional requirements include high school transcripts and two recommendation letters.
Transfer applicants are required to complete all parts of the Common Application or Emerson Application along with the Emerson-specific writing supplement.
Additional application credentials may be required for transfer students; international students; and for some applicants, depending on their intended area of study. Visit emerson.edu/ug-admission or contact Undergraduate Admission at 617-824-8600 or admission@emerson.edu for more information about the application process.
Financial Assistance
Emerson offers a wide variety of financial assistance programs including need-based and merit-based aid, and approximately 80 percent of new first-year Emerson students receive financial assistance to help pay for their education. All first-year and transfer applicants are automatically considered for merit scholarships at the time of application review. All merit scholarships are awarded based on academic achievements, leadership, and match with Emerson.
To apply for need-based financial aid, you must be a US citizen (or US permanent resident) and file both the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) and the CSS Profile form. For more information, visit emerson.edu/finaid.
